Housing shortage

In view of the recent housing shortage, does anyone agree that property owners should be made to either rent out their empty properties or sell them?

Apology accepted Gromit. If I was in the fortunate position of owning more than one property, I would, without question, let it. In fact we did let our property for 4 years whilst we were in N Ireland (my OH being in the Army). We had two tenants during that time and the house was only empty for one week. It's the people that buy property and leave it empty just to make a profit by selling on that irritate me and it's these people that I was talking about.
