JTH, I have no issue with gay bars, used to drink regularly in a bar in Bruxelles affectionate ly known by the British as the Tranny Arms. What I do have a problem with is, as in this case, where help is given in preference. It is wrong and not only that it brings Gay Bars to the fore for every nutter with a grievance. Naomi, It's not a good question at all. It's an ignorant question. A typical AnswerBank 'I can't be bothered to research' question.
It's a bit like saying, 'oh them Falcons are dying out, so we'll just let them' without asking why.

It matters nt whther the developers are on board or not. They wont care, they just build and move on and its unlikely they live anywhere near.
As I see it the big issue here is it is outright discrimination , like I said above how long would you give me if I said I was opening a heterosexual bar?
Zacs, no there arnt any (because pold would arrest anyone trying) and no I wouldnt do it because I believe in equality and integration. Unlike some on here.

So then Zacs, the problems the LBGT bas face are one of council greed, just like any other bar. I wonder if Mr Khan, whose voters probably hate all dens in inequity that serve the devils brew, will be assisting the other bars too? Or maybe he will help address the problem that pubs are shutting in the East End for some reason?
Calm down, ymb.....
Read Zac's link and that will explain it all to you.
Gay bars don't ban heterosexuals from going in......not until they start behaving like gonks, in any case. It's polite to call them Gay bars, so that anyone passing through the doors isn't going to be 'outraged' by what they see in there.

What I do have a problem with is, as in this case, where help is given in preference. It is wrong and not only that it brings Gay Bars to the fore for every nutter with a grievance. Until we stop this special treatment for small groups the bigotry and violence against such groups will continue. We all need to be one big melting pot, all treated the same.
