Should we allow a situation such as this in our schools? And should this teacher be sacked?
Why do we skirt around issues that might offend other religions and yet ignore issues that might offend Christians?

When did you last go to church and how much company did you have there?
There's no excuse for teaching religion, or having worship of any type in public schools.
Schools are places of learning not superstition. If people want their children taught all that stuff they should pay for it themselves and have it done in church, synagogue or mosque or whatever.

Just because you aren't a strict Christian with strict Christian views and extreme beliefs doesn't mean that their are not some out there. I know more Christians with bizarrely extreme beliefs about Gods wishes than I do Muslim terrorists.
Jake do you not think it would be awful if children grew up only knowing about other religions from information given to them via the news and their parents. If taught it at school they can be given impartial information where as parents could bring them up with views like shadow man's. You cannot escape religion your whole life at some point it will be encountered.

Couldn't we all agree on the following so that we can call a halt to all these arguments:
1. All black people are bad.
2. All Asians are bad (apart from the ones who keep quiet and open their shops late).
3. All white people are descended from the tears of angels
4. All eastern Europeans come over here to impregnate our daughters and eat our pigeons (probably)
5. All white kids wouldn't take drugs if it wasn't for gangster rap which is produced by black people (see point one)
6. All asylum seekers are potential terrorists
7. All terrorists are potential asylum seekers
8. It was so much better back in the 1950s...a period that few of us actually remember.
9. All mosques should be torn down and jolly 1950s style theme pubs put up in their place.
10. Our children aren't even being taught English anymore because of the Asians (see point two)
I would happily sign up for the above if we could...just....stop...the....flipping...Muslim....bashing...just for a day or two.

Do you think our ancestors, brave men who went out to create an empire, brought up their children to be scared of Arab words? What a lily-livered approach to the world. Whilst there are many, many people who are genuinely worried about the effects of immigration and will openly talk about this - unfortunately, there's a hell of a lot of genuine racist filth who try to sound exactly like you.
They trumpet that "I'm only speaking my mind...blah" thing, whereas what they really want to do is join the BNP and "smack a few p*kis up".
I hope you can see how confusing it can be - if people like you and good old-fashioned racist scum sound exactly alike nowadays, it can be incredibly easy to mix you up because they're kinda...nicking your sentiments, trying to dress up their white supremacy cobblers to sound reasonable.
It just taints the whole debate.

I have never been picked on by racists because...well, frankly I grew up in a rough part of South London and am built like a brick outhouse.
However, you're absolutely correct in that racism (together with homophobia and sexism) is something that pushes all my buttons.
But what pushes them harder are non-racists who pretend it doesn't exist.
I find them naive.
(I may have spelled 'naive' incorrectly there).
I have never been picked on by racists because...well, frankly I grew up in a rough part of South London and am built like a brick outhouse.

You are quite correct to point this out MrBen5t o sp1814. I have noticed on numourous occasions during discussions on the Radio or TV between Black people, Muslims and White people.
It is always the Black or Muslim that will raise their voices and try and over talk the white person, there is so much pent-up aggression why is this?
This is not a myth, watch Question Time or listen to Radio 4 or radio talk shows, MAN (why do they say this)?
