AARGHH this feels so pathetic and nothing like this has ever bothered me before but there's a certain guy that I'm really good friends with, and I've been getting these really mixed feelings for him for quite a while now. anyway, I told him this and he said that he sort of felt the same but he hates relationships and so doesn't want to do anything about it. whenever I try and bring up the conversation he hates it then I feel bad. its been really getting to me that he feels like this. It's got to the point that every time I meet up with him I have an empty hope that something might happen. I know deep down it probably never will.

I'm pretty young and this is the first time I've been really really hung up on someone... I actually feel like a complete idiot because I always thought it was strange that someone could take over somebody else's mind this way...

I'm sure this feeling is really common to people more mature than myself. I'm really hating it and I just want to know what anyone thinks I should do. Let go, I suppose?

Hi there

I'm just thinking that if he likes u and feels the same way, then why isn't he giving it a go? Has he been hurt in the past?

If you really feel like it isn't going to get anywhere and he has made this clear, then maybe you should stop spending so much time with him in order to get a clear head and get over him a bit.

Go out with your friends and in time i'm msure you'll meet someone new and at least this way, you will always have him as a friend.
When you get with your mate, there is always a risk that if anything goes wrong, it's not always easy to get that friendship back, as i found out ;-)

Is it worth all this? Have you thought about that bit?

Goodluck in whatever you choose and i hope it works out

x

Hi Hun - sorry but in my experience when a bloke says he hates (or isn't ready for) relationships, it's an attempt at letting you down gently. I'm afraid that your instincts are right, and I doubt anything will happen. The advice given above is really good - you need to try to get over this.

I hope you find someone else soon who will reciprocate your feelings.
Lets just wait till there is grass on the pitch hey!!!!!
I agree. Believe what he says and move on. The feelings of longing will pass eventually.....if you cling on to hope, you are only prolonging the agony! x
Hey. I've felt like this plenty of times in the past but to be honest this guy doesn't really sound like he wants a relationship. The more you push it by bringing it up, the more he will back away. He knows how you feel so the best thing to do would be to back off and just be friends. Then if he wants anything to happen, he's more likely to come your way. I know it's really hard but you need to find something to keep your mind off him and whatever you do, don't sleep with him, thinking that might be the way into a relationship because 90% of the time it will end up just as casual sex from the guys point of view and the woman will just get even more hurt.

Good luck. xxxx
i'm in exactly the same situation really the guy likes me and i like him but neither of us are really bothered about having a relationship we've been out now and again but more as friends than anything else. i'm young also and i find it annoying when they dont go out from your mind but i think you should make him come to you if and when he wants to theres no point chasing someone if they are not interested it will just put him off even more
