I have just read that we as a nation are being accused of being insensitive to muslims because we serve pork at school dinners? And they wonder why islamaphobia is on the increase. What are your views or is it just me who islamaphobic?

That implies to me that there was a choice of other food, but that the complaint was that a "forbidden food" was allowed within the sight of Muslim children. I can't help but think "tough luck". Isn't pork forbidden to Jewish people? I haven't heard of Rabbis complaining that pork is being served in British schools. I think there would be a lot less Islamaphobia if the more radical community leaders stopped trying to push their views on everyone else; I have my doubts as to whether they truly represent the views of the "Muslim in the street". (A bit like the British political leaders...)

Nedflanders, Non muslims are allowed to do what they like in an islamic country as long as they do not enforce it, or it doesn't cause harm to others. Infact in saudi Arabia they do drink and eat pork, there are many ex-pats over there as well as people from other industries. In addition there are many christian Arabs in the arab countries. The Quran itself tells muslims that non-muslims are allowed to live and work in islamic countries and should be free to practise their own beliefs without persecution or harrassment.
