Ellen Macarthur

I know this isn't the right category but my question in sport hasn't turned up! Could anyone tell me if Ellen Macarthur is still competing in the Barcelona World Race? My sailing magazine states that Alex Thomson is now competing with Andrew Cape. Any reason why? Thanks for your answers.

I think that you must have 'got your wires crossed'. As far as I can tell, EM was never listed as a competitor in the race. I freely admit that I know next to nothing about yacht racing but these are my reasons:

There's nothing on the websites of EM, Team Ellen or Alex Thomson to suggest that EM was ever in the running to be a competitor in the Barcelona World Race:

The race website confirms that Alex Thomson and Andrew Cape will compete in the Hugo Boss:

Nearly a year ago, news reports of EM starting the official countdown clock for the race stated that AT and AC would be crewing the Hugo Boss (but made no reference to EM competing in the race herself):

When this new race was thought up a few years ago my sailing mag. did say she hoped to be competing, maybe I should change my magazine.
