A School in Manchester has BANNED pupils from exchanging Xmas Cards for Health and Safety reasons(Passing germs,etc).Does this now mean we will have to take our own Cups,Plates and Cutlery to any Restaurant,or take our own glass to the pub,not to mention our own personal shopping trolley to the Supermarket!! The World's gone mad!!!!!!!

Rochdale is part of Greater Manchester just like Richmond is part of Greater London, yet for some reason people don't seem quite so pedantic about London. I live in Trafford, which is fought over between Manchester and Cheshire, either way, it's still part of Greater Manchester, shortened to Manchester by those of us who live here. Stop nit picking!

Incidentally, who cares, they're only bit of paper created for commercial gain, we all throw them out at the earliest opportunity anyway! No one wants them and everyone hates having to write the blessed things!

Everhelpful - You are correct, I do have a chip on my shoulder: I absolutely loathe people who make up stories and claim them as true.


What view point is Barter entitled to have? A view that says "I just heard a story, changed a lot of relevant facts and then complain that the world has gone mad". Yes, a highly intelligent view point, and just as you are entitled to a view that says the world is flat, you probably shouldn't get annoyed when people laugh at you.


Maybe you could tell me what I said that was out of line or simply not true?

I think the idea the school have come up with is great. Not so much because of the fear of hurting kids feelings, but because of the dreadful waste.
