banning clowns
I heard today that they are banning picures of clowns in places where children are i.e. hospitals etc because they can frighten them - Isn't Ronald McDonald a clown - how many children are frightened of going into McDonalds?

Maybe children are more perceptive these days, and realise earlier on that clowns are unfunny freaks.

My son used to be scared of the custard pie in face thing, but wasn't really scared of them as such. The film I saw was an 18 and involved clowns and dwarves kidnapping and raping some school children in some sewers underneath the big top. It really was awful and even though it was nearly 30 years ago it is still very vivid.

Didn't know that about the Bulger case, but hopefully those subjected to horror are few and far between - Why then are kids apparently scared of clowns? My childhood memory of clowns were circus and silly people making us laugh - so what has changed so much that now they are banning them from children's areas.
