The Office for National Statistics have released figures that show that 2 million immigrants that have come to this country in the last ten years, have moved on, apparently not liking the place. Coupled with that, 2 million Britons have also fled.

Our country is undeniably beautiful, and there are plenty of jobs, so why the exodus?

What annoys me is people who bang on about how good immigrants are for this country etc...but how?

OK... they do the sh!tty jobs no-one else will do but who benefits from that?...only the employers

What about all the immigrants who come here and don`t work, the ones who overload our schools and nhs services

The reason I moved was because my kids classrooms were being filled with non English speaking kids, there were 35 kids to a class and more than half of them didn`t speak English

Call me a snob, racist whatever you like, but I had enough of it

what on earth do you mean, only the employers benefit? Every time you call in a Polish plumber, you're an employer. You employ Tesco's services every time you buy cheap food there, which means you're indirectly employing the cheap foreign workers who pick it, or the ones who clean the toilets of the ones who pick it. We're all in this together. You get what you pay for. The British are congenitally mean (except the Scots); they pay peanuts and wonder why they get monkeys.
Firstly..I wouldn`t employ a polish plumber
And speaking of which...in the building trade, all the major companies who employ polish chippies and brickies who work for half of what english brickies and chippies work for, they are saving money on wages, so who benefits?..they do

As for the schools....When I sit down and eat dinner with my kids at the dinner table I want to hear them say what a wonderful day they`ve had at school, not sit there doing sign language in fooking polish or urdu
Amazing how many people have said about the tax burden in this country with either no proof or with no experience of anywhere else.

The tax burden in this country is 33.5% for single people with no kids or 27.1% for a married couple with 2 kids.

Compare this to Germany (51.8% and 35.7%), Spain (39.0% and 33.4%)or Italy 45.2% and 35.2%) and it doesn't seem quite so bad.

If people are moving out of this country as a protest against immigration, then they have to be amazingly stupid and hypocritical as they will be immigrants in their own country.

And if you want to talk about crime, then why not look at the crime levels in other countries (in fact Scotland is the most violent country in the developed world).

shanx,
I'm fine now, many thanks for asking.

Oneeyedvic Crime rate might not be as bad as you are saying. But it is to do with what sort of crime. As Birdie1971 mentioned and he is an ex police man. My worry is that random & unprovoked attacks are increasing here. You do not have to be known to the offender. If I have done something bad to someone then I should be worried about that person coming back somewhere and attacking me. What I do not want is that I am walking down the street and a completely stranger, nothing to do with me, does not know me at all, comes across and start beating me up or hit me in the head from behind and then keep on stamping on my head even if I have died with the first blow.

Immigration, I am not worried about as long as they abide by the laws of the country and contribute towards the place where they are living. I am an immigrant myself. I know how much I am contributing, and started from the 3rd day I walked (flew) into this country.

All in all honestly I would say that still this country is not as bad that people should abandon it. Just we need few problems sorted and they are every where in the world. You do not run away, you face and sort them for the sake of your next generations to come.
keyplus - why do you think that unprovoked attacks are on the increase? Is it because of the media or because of facts?

Elvis, my class at school had kids from about 10 different countries. The school jno jnr went to had even more. We both speak perfect English. Language is something you learn at home. Neither of us seems to have picked up any Urdu, but I wouldn't be in the least worried if we had, as I am not terrified of foreign languages or foreigners.
Britain is possibly the best country in Europe to live in.

Period.

People who complain - get yourselves over to Italy, Spain, Germany, The Czech Republic or France.

You will have your eyes opened.

Oh, and immigrants are great. Laziness is not a common national trait in immigrants.

Prove me wrong.

And stop running down Britain - for God's sake, the reason why there is no pride in this country isn't because people are scared of being proud of Britain, it's because they're too busy running it down.

Shame on you.
brachiopod,
have a read of the remarks by Chris Grayling, MP for Epsom.

Reason behind unprovoked attacks as Oneeyevic asked. My personal feeling is that there are few factors behind it.
1 Family factors- As I said before in the case of that boy got murdered recently in a bakery. His mother is feeling sorry for the parents of the criminal, but I would not be surprised if his parents be proud of him for being tough. Most of these families are where there is no marriage, or wholesale kids from more than one father.
2 Depression That could be due to financial, family, social, physical, work related, film and video games related. Could be any thing.
3 Alcohol Most of unprovoked attacks are related to this reason and a combination of any other.
4 Punishment a good number of people commit crime because they want to show off and are aware that there is no punishment which will make them think twice before doing it only for pleasure. Happy Slapping or whatever they call is the example. They do it only to film it.
5 Positive activities Most of the people who are doing are from those areas where teenagers are not busy doing something positive.

I think this is enough.

Giving National Insurance Numbers to Illegal Immigrants started in 1948. The new legislation effectively has closed that loophole. The main reason for it, is so that tax and national insurance contributions can be collected.

Do you want illegals to work Tax-free?
keyplus, Vic didn't ask why unprovoked attacks are on the rise, he asked why you think they are. Do you have any facts to support your belief that they are rising?
