I couldn't not call the police if I was sure I'd seen her.

If I had a child who resembled a missing one I don't think I'd mind being stopped and questioned if it meant that efforts were being made to get a child back safe.

I get someone to call the police and do everything i could to keep them there or, if not, at least try and follow them.

I doubt id grab the child just in case it wasnt th missing child. What parent is really going to say "oh thats ok I know you were just doing your bit to help" if someone grabbed their child and refused to let you near them?

I know that I would have to do something. she is quite recognisable due to her unusual eyes.

Raising the roof would be a really, really stupid idea. You have no idea why the kidnapper is taking such a risk or what that might mean in terms of how s/he is armed (or if they are). Plus with such a risk they'll almost certainly have an easy escape plan of some kind.

Best course of action would be to discreetly contact the police and try and keep your eye on them.

You always get sightings when people disappear. Especially high-profile cases. Whether they're hoaxes or if people genuinely believe in them, you always get them.

well krom keeping a low profile by the people that have supposedly seen the little girl has hardly worked has it?if you havent noticed she is still missing....if you caused a fuss the kidnappers would soon do a runner without giving the girl a second thought,they would only be thinking of 1 thing....and that is to escape.....probably without grabbing the little girl.....

I remember remarking to my hubby when Madeleine was taken that all the nutters would crawl out of the woodwork to claim their 15 mins of fame and now that the Potuguese police have handed over their files it seems I'm right/ Of course any right minded person would have kicked up a fuss if they'd really seen her!

I believe some of the current newspaper reports are 'encouraged' by the McCann private detectives and Team McCann, to further belittle the Portuguese police, and maybe help with the fundraising.

Cynical, maybe. But the chap in Venezuela was certain she was Madeleine, but decided to wait weeks to report it.

Im going yo throw something into the mix here, does anybody think as I did initially that maybe Madeleine was stolen to order and taken to N Africa? I only ask this because years ago a friend of mine went to London with her very pretty blonde blue eyed daughter and was accosted by an Arab man outside Harrods who wanted to buy her daughter! This is absolutely true can you imagine?

I would take photos & videos of Maddie's escorts with my mobile phone....and call police. If I was certain, having seen the eyes, I would hold the child till the police arrived.
