just watching the paralympic opening ceremony,and i just wondered if these athletes are drug tested the same was as the able bodied athletes are...i mean if they are on some sort of medication might that not enhance an athletes peformance? or are the drug taking rules relaxed a little?this is a serious question...btw i have never seen so many smiling faces,they ALL deserve a gold medal...................

I can well understand them wanting to go to the olympics, after all they have trained hard for it, but i would still worry about my convictions and the way the chinese goverment treat disabled people!!!!

i agree puddicat the chinese havent exactly covered themselves in glory over its human rights issues but they have put on a bl**dy good olympics and it looks like the paralympics are going to be just as good.....................

I should think that they must give a little leeway over this.

They must mostly be on some different forms of medication, just like some are on different types of mobility aids.

For instance I shouldn't think that one legged runners, have to use all the same standard of artificial legs.

It is a thought though, could one type be more advantageous to a runner than another type?

No leeway when it comes to chinese policies, just not how they deal with disability, but others such as girls being left to die, remember "The Dying Rooms"!!!!!!

sorry i don't know about the drugging question but just on a side note there was that disabled athlete that wanted to compete against able bodied runners in the Olympics, he was turned down because his prosthetic lower legs were deemed an advantage over the other not disabled runners.
