Big Bang....Collider...etc?

aaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhh, why why why why do people keep saying they are going to recreate the big bang? I'm not sure what's stupider, saying it or believing it. Some of the conditions that existed very shortly after the big bang may well be created, get it?! Its the Higgs boson that we are looking for people.

speak for yourself, my Higgs boson slipped down the back of the sofa and I can't be bothered hunting for it. I wonder what would actually happen if they did recreate the big bang? A new universe exploding into my kitchen and spraying my baked beans around the walls? Total annihilation? Something in between?

I can't see what the point in this experiment is? Is it just to prove some theorical physics? If you can't eat it, drink it or f**k it then simply no-one is interested.

If they do re-create the big bang then we are all f@#ked. How would they be able to contain another whole Universe in the confines of Geneva?
