If she is in foster care or a childrens' home, of course she is in the care of the Social Services.

The authorities are keeping the press away from her but the journalists know any direct reporting about the child's current situation is illegal.

Shannon is not going to join her mother in prison - it is ludicrous to even suggest it.

The courts only concern is the 'best interest of the child' and she is of an age to express an opinion. She has stated that she does not want to live with her mother.

Only 3% of women prisoners have their children with them, so it is not standard procedure. These children are babies and the mothers are serving relatively short sentences.

Life is cheap eh. Imagine involving your own child in a kidnap plot purely for �50K, which to me seems a paltry amount, but I guess to the scummy benefit cheats like Matthews and Meehan it's a fortune. Hope they are sent down for a very long time.

Shannon is in foster care with highly trained and dedicated people who will nurture her and provide a stable and loving upbringing. She is on a full care order which means that she will not be able to have contact with her family until such time that she expresses a wish to do so and the court think that it will not be detremental to her emotionally.
