The Pope said that "saving" humanity from homosexuality is just as important as saving the rainforests.

Y is religion so sexist.....all run by men? Or is it that men are more gullible?
carrust

AOG. I was quoting Stephen Fry, who happens to be one of the most intelligent people in the country...He's also a homosexual..

Both of Stephen Fry's acclamations that you granted him, still does not make him respectful.
terambulan, religion offers power (eg seats in the House of Lords); no way women are getting their hands on it.
Are your children tedious, knee jerking little Englanders, AoG?

Using your scientific criterial for judging parenting skills, that's what I be forced to take from the majority of your posts.

I was calling God a b*stard by the way. The Pope is merely the headmaster of the world's finest accredited paedophile finishing school.
I'll apologise for that one actually. But he needs to do more about it...
What I find quite worrying here is that the leader of one of the west's largest brainwashing establishments that quite clearly doesn't oppose paedaphiles is in full agreement with the east's largest brainwashing establishment that openly encourages paedaphiles.
A new war on two fronts?
wot a pile of ****
ah, another literate poster joins the ranks of AB
I have heard it suggested that the strangest sexual perversion of all is celibacy
At least when we are talking about rain forests a chopper is a useful instrument. For homosexuals it can only cause AIDs.
"Both of Stephen Fry's acclamations that you granted him, still does not make him respectful."

That's true. (I like him personally, mind you.)

Out of interest, who do you like, AOG? And what do you like? Do you like things? I don't think I've ever heard you say anything cheerful or positive about anything. Or if I have, I can't remember. Are there things that make you happy?
So should the Pope be ignored by everyone or should someone speak to him do you think?
I like the pope. The pope smokes dope.
Thanks for being so condisending to even refer to those of us who have a belief at all flipflop.
I don't take any notice of what this man or any other so called representitive of God on earth.
I don't agree with anything he has said.
Please do not land all of us who do have a belief in the same boat because to be honest Atheists can be just as opinionated and obnoxious in their thoughts as any one else.
Religion should never be connected with God.
This is all a bit of a contradiction. Presumably the pope believes that God created us, and if we're homosexual, it therefore follows that God created us such, so how can homosexuality be a destruction of God's work? The pope is, in effect, criticising God's work and I think he ought to have an in-depth consultation with his boss before spouting any more of his hate-inducing nonsense. How to create peace on earth, eh? Don't ask the pope, for heaven's sake! He isn't bringing people together or encouraging them to understand their fellow man - he's setting them against each other. As for respect, he deserves none. He should be ashamed of himself. Christian love, kindness and compassion? I think not.

I always wondered why he prayed to himself too, Birdie. Was that really necessary?
Tigerlily, you're going to have to explain that one to me please because that has thoroughly confused me.

'Religion should never be connected to god'
