Isn't it now time for ITV to lose the rights of televising FA cup matches?

The rights are granted on on technical ability, but the ability to pay the most money for it.

It was a mistake. Similar incidents have happened before. During the 1994 Final coverage, the BBC missed one of Manchester United's goals because they were showing an action replay.

Though it pains me to say it, Sky's coverage (despite Andy Gray) is superb. The BBC and Setanta are OK and ITV has always been poor.
Should read:
The rights are granted not on technical ability, but the ability to pay the most money for it.
Which is a nice reminder that F1 is back with the BBC this year!!

(Don't care about the football ;o))
it happened about 2 weeks ago for the celtic game on bbc scotland - well they just moved the footage from beeb 2 to 1 without notice/.....
ITV shouldn't show live sport. Advert break - Someone crashes in Formula 1 , wicket taken at cricket, goal in football etc - it's ludicrous.
Aside from the advert errors, their football coverage is woeful. They've got Steve Rider who couldn't muster genuine enthusiasm for football if his life depended on it. Loud, pointless pundits who achieved next to nothing in the game. Garish graphics. Highlights edited with quirky camera angles and loud music to appeal to non-fans, making it impossible to tell what's going on.

Awful. I do rate David Pleat though.
At least ITV provided it on free to view tv for you. My complaint is that Liverpool and Everton should be reported under the trade descriptions act. That was not football, it was sheer boredom.
rate David Pleat? I was beginning to agree with your argument up until then, Quinlad.

That guy wouldn't know one side of the pitch from the other as proven with his disastrous attempts at management of Spurs!

Unfortunately ITV do survive on revenue generated by advert breaks unlike Sky, Setanta and BBC so there will be times that this might happen. But in all fairness how often does it happen in relation to the amount of hours that they broadcast? 1 in 100, 1000, 10000?

Advert break - Someone crashes in Formula 1

At last, at last, someone has admitted the real reason why people watch Formula 1.

and - your question is?

Anyone else have that blissful moment where they completely misread the thread title?
well yes but I wasn't going to own up to it
Pleat's a woeful manager but at least as a co-commentator he actually provides analysis of why one side is outplaying the other.

I can't think of many others who even attempt that.

And the memory of him curb-crawling always makes me laugh.
I have to admit to it too, Kromo!!
ITV should never be able to show sport, fancy letting the F! be shown on that, and when it comes to football the so called commentators just chat to each other, they never actually give any information just waffle, and poor Kuyt has about 8 different names,
Kromovaracun- yes, hence why im even on this question to begin with, scanned a few replies and thought "wuttt?" then re-read the title again.

The utter disapointment.
Ditto, I thought it was about something else too. I'm going to pootle back to TV section now....
Yep same here....
So this is news - is it AOG ?
