Can somebody please tell me what the French Revolution was all about.  Who caused it and how did it end?

It was something to do with the poor people having nothing and the rich too much...the poor got their own back by removing the heads of the rich... with Madam Guilitene can't spell that but it was the forunner of the sword edge from Wilkinson.

The revolting peasants caused it because they didn't accept their place in an ordered hierarchical feudalistic society.

The male peasants were also revolting because non of them had any trousers.

Because of the growing gap between peasants and the upper class.  The peasants started it to regain control of their lives.
