what if aliens landed and had the same scripture as our bible?
What if they knew of Jesus christ an all and said a prophet or whatever had visited their world light years away and told them the bible story and they all believed the same as us?
Would that be enough proof for non believers?

You might as well ask "What if God turned up in your local and performed a few miracles? Would that be enough to convince you?" or just: "What if there was absolute proof?"
The fact is: Aliens haven't landed, God hasn't turned up in my local, and there ain't no absolute proof.

Are you suggesting they spoke the same language?
There are many translations and versions!
I'm guessing that you're suggesting that it's basically the same.
Take the Story of Noah and the Great flood.
A strikingly similar story appears in babylonian myth predating the earliest bible references.
A man is warned by God to dismantle his house and build a greak boat to avoid a great flood.
How do we explian this? Do we assume that the events must be true?
No we assume that there was cultural connections between the two and the story was adapted one from the other.
In your scenario that would be the first port of call to establish where the connection was.
Exactly the same as if they turned up with the Complete works of Shakespere

And what if they landed and told us the truth?
That the act of worship in all of its forms is an evil practice used by the wicked to hypnotise the gullible into committing atrocities.
That books purporting to document the will of God are the tools of the wicked and were written by self serving, racist, sexist biggots.
That religion stands in the way of intelligence, morality and progress. That they only succeeded when the true nature of religion was revealed to all.

chakka rojash thank you for bleesing this stupid post with your presence but if all you can do is say how stupid it is then why waste the fugging keyboard! Not every question has to be of such importance that the mighty chakka must demonstrate his/her superior intellect.
all i said was if an alien landed and said "oh the koran! We have that book on our planet"
would that be proof to you?

I think Jake's already given the logic answer. Rather than assume that the alien race's knowledge of Religion X's conferred authenticity, it would be more rational to consider whether, given they have the ability to manage interstellar travel, Religion X originated with them and was shared with us or vice versa.
Well maybe a better way is to ask what would make any of us reconsider our opinions?
In my humble experience bringing hypothetical aliens into any discussion about religion is always the start of a downhill slide!
You can basically propose any situation with the "yeah but what if aliens did it" line.

No one left religious scriptures with anyone. Men wrote them all.
Sherman, we had another discussion here once about this, and wondered whether Jesus, in a universal(?) effort to save sins, had been crucified over and over again on various planets. Bearing in mind the religious among us think they're pretty unique in being the only ones who know 'the truth', it's an interesting thought. Oh boy, wouldn't they be in for a surprise!
I think God was an alien anyway - but that's another story. :o)
