I am absolutely disgusted with the woman in this article but I can't fathom out what point of view the Metro are taking. There is no indication of whether they are reporting it as a wrong doing or just highlighting the fact that a female hunter has killed her first elephant with a bow and arrow.
The allies fighting the war never claimed to be non-violent. The ALF does claim to be. Many animal activists are violent; they are not in the ALF but the ALF profits from their actions, much as Sinn Fein profited from IRA terrorism. This seems to me a pretty porous moral principle. But exactly what actions would you be prepared to take to save elephants from people with arrows?
I agree this is a curious story and it is not clear why it has surfaced now. The kill was in 2007, and I have searched the web, and all the media reports seem to quote from 2007 with no new information.
Suddenly now, this non story has appeared in the Mail, Telegraph and Metro and is spreading around the world.
