Whether you agree with Nick Griffen BNP has he got a point saying the Immigrants boats should be sunk? Although their destination is Europe many will make their way to the UK.

Although most took his language to be directed at the immigrants the real culprits are the traffic smugglers. They are said to make �1000's on every trip. Can they be classified any differently from the Somali boat pirates whose only aim is to make money. In that case we holed their boats to prevent further occurrences.

Should the people smugglers be tackled head on?

Sinking boats with people on them is pretty barbaric. The EU is a modern democracy, not a bunch of pirates. This get tough posturing from the little man will find favour with a few gullible fools, but even the far right in the EU parliament are unwilling to form any alliance with him because they are regarded as bordering on looney.

I notice he is advocating the Italians carry out the drowning of children and babies, and he is not volunteering the British Navy. At least that's a start.

It would be must simpler to confiscate lorries that are found to be people smuggling into the UK. If a lorry driver knows his vehicle and cargo will be impounded and even taken off him, then he is going to be far more diligent than at present. Also, fines for the train and tunnel operators would drastically improve detection of stowaways.

Problems are there to be solved. Immigration into the EU is a major problem There are illegal traffickers using boats to make money from poor individuals.

Most of the immigrants start out from Libya. This country has agreed with the EU to accept those that have migrated there. Then maybe its possible to tow these boats back to Libya, the passengers disembarked, the boats blown up and the traffickers charged. There must be other solutions!

To be clear he is suggesting forcing probably scores of people into life rafts not designed for that many which may well be inadequate anyway and setting them adrift.

I'm sure some might try that, but the vast majority of people illegally entering the country or claiming asylum are from Afghanistan, Iraq (Kurds), Pakistan or Iran.
