During the Vietnam war the Americans used to spray the jungle with "agent orange". This chemical was sprayed from aircraft . The next morning the trees would be bare and the Viet-con snipers could now be spotted and dealt with. So my question is, if it kills all plant life why don't the military do it now in Afghanistan over the poppy fields. It would screw up their system of selling drugs for weapons explosives and equipment, but most of all our troops would not be in as much danger by having to patrol this part of the country.( Please look up HELP for HEROES.and be proud of our young men and women.)

And when do we fit in another one of your predictions... taking the war to Pakistan?
You don't need to win hearts and minds to win a war - you need to do it to prevent a second.

The first world war failed to do this that's why we had a second.

Chemical weapons did not allow the Americans to win in Vietnam - and it won't work here

I don't think something like Agent Orange would work, but it is a good idea. I agree with Zabado, I care about the British troops because I am British. I think we need more patriots in this country. It doesn't mean I hate other countries but I would put mine first.

It is ironic though isn't it? The poppy's are being used to poison the vulnerable people in our society and yet Zabado is criticised for wanting to "poison" the plants responsible?

You obviously didn't bother to read the other posts, or you would realise that Agent Orange would poison not just the plants, but also innocent citizens, including women and children, and those not yet born, as well as our own soldiers, and those of our allies.
