I just stood outside the house looking over the lake - which is frozen and covered in snow. I watched a woman on the other side walk her toddler up to the edge of the lake and then let him walk on it!!!! OK, so the edge is pretty thick and she did call him back, but my heart was in my mouth watching this unfold. Honestly, the stupidity of some people.
OMG - I had a feeling you were 'close' to my BF - He's Hampton too (Hargate). We may well have passed each other in the One-Stop, Kurryz, Flames, Subway or Serpentine Green?
I know just the man-made lakes you mean - I'm often dragged out for a healthy 'walk' around them.
It's a small world....
LOL, the One Stop is just behind the house! We sometimes go to the Moorhen if we want some bad food and crap wine too! I wouldn't be surprised if your bf doesn't know mine (mine's quite well known around here).
Yup - been to the Moorhen a few times... !!
It's unlikely Cap'n Pug knows your man - he's very unsociable and a bit of a hermit - apart from his immediate neighbours & his malaysian hairdresser he;s never really got to know anyone round his neighbourhood - even though he's lived there 7 years... If it wasn't for me dragging him out to be forcibly socialised, there'd be weeks where he only saw the cashout lady at Tessy's. He works from home, only has ex-work colleagues who he's lost contact with. He is quite vocal on the Hampton internet site though - usually ranting on about politics & useless government & what he'd do if he were Prime Minister....
I live overlooking frozen water too, and everytime we have incidents of kids on it, even in supermarket trolleys once!! I cringe, its scares the heck out of me.
