That is how much he has been estimated to have been paid in total from various sources since leaving office.

Take comfort from the fact that he'll now be paying 50% tax on most of this, plus a bit of NI, so there's over £7m that'll be coming into the public coffers.

Aaah yes, I was half asleep when I heard it, but even so, how does an ex PM (Liar) and Con Merchant provide any value to a prestige FMCG brand? - oh, I see my question is an oxymoron! LOL.
Is it as disgusting as someone who can't spell a simple word of just four lettters? - it's HEAR not HERE.

Going to get on your high horse about standards of education these days?

Ooh Jumbuck (sorry if I have spelt your name wrongly on purpose), it was a simple typo I do knw the difference between hear and here.... but I am surmising you are one of Tone's biggest fans?

Oh and in my haste to reply I have missed out the o in know!!!
LVC can pay people what they like. If they seriously think they'll get value out of him, go ahead. At least his money isn't coming from me any more.
Not particularly but people such as you are so easy to wind up.

Then you need more help than I do!!
Most politicians and world leaders earn FAR more many AFTER they have left power than before.

They get huge sums for writing their life story, are paid for speaking engagments, and are paid to be on the boards of various companies etc.

They also of course get a chance to stay "for free" at the holiday homes of the rich and famous (as Blair did when he was in power).

Unfortunately they inhabit a world way beyond what the likes of you or I could ever hope to reach.

It is not disgusting if this company feel he is worth that sort of money, it is their money to do what they want with.

It is the sad, stupid people who overpay for a "name brand" like Louis Vuitton that are lining his pocket.
It is not just Blair who is paid for his "services"

Just look what Tiger Woods has been paid by companies over the years.

He once signed at 5 years deal with Nike worth over 100 milion dollars.

You're right, VHG, but at least Woods' sponsors were able to use him in their ads, bolstering their own reputation by associating it with his (the latter now unfortunately in freefall). I don't know what LVC think they will get out of being mentored by Blair, unless they're planning on invading some oil-rich country and want some tips. Still, it is indeed their money. I do not intend to increase it; M&S carrier bags are good enough for me.

I agree that LVC can pay whom and how much whatever they like, what I object to is formerly "public servants" profitting from their "service" but its the way of world, nurses get paid peanuts and politicians buy duck houses.... As my parents told me when I was little - life is unfair!!!
It's a ludidrous sum of money but its up to the company and their shareholders if they want to pay him that. Not sure what you expect him to do when he finishes being a 'public servant', how many people have bought memoirs from politicians or ex service personnel. If a nurse decided to write a book that went on to be a best seller would you begrude them if they made millions from it after all they too would be cashing in on their service.
Jumbuck,on the subject of spelling, how many "t"'s in letters?!!

Very good Ever Helpful (you have certainly lived up to your name!!! LOL)

Coolbeastie, I think Tony Blair should go and visit and every widow and orphan from the Iraq war (both sides) get down on his knees and beg their forgiveness.

well said Crazychick and good spelling too !
As has been said above ; it's up to the company and their shareholders who they have on their payroll . ( i assume your'e not a shareholder )
If your feelings are that strong , then dont buy any of the companies products .

What I object to , is having to contribute directly to the wages of overated , so called ' celebreties' - as an example
