So much is said about our triple A credit rating and how we have escaped being dragged into the mire such as Greece is experiencing. However our credit rating is already taking a bashing as we get charged over and above the going rate. Anyone with savings has lost about 20% in the past year especially helped by the £ floating (or should I say sinking?) We may not have the best economists on the planet but we have the worst shysters.
The Telegraph calls this budget an attack on "the middle class".
- The 50p top tax hits only 1% of earners.
- The loss of personal allowance hits only the top 2%.
- Frozen inheritance tax thresholds affects 6% of the richest.
- Stamp duty on homes worth more than £1m equals 1.5% of properties.
