Is there anything that the Muslims are not offended by?

These structures in no way resemble Mosques, middle eastern buildings yes, but Mosques no.

Ask any 8+year old to draw a picture of the lands Jesus knew and they would draw buildings such as this.

I wonder if they have given the OK to the training facility in Telford, because I can see no domes, but there are real Afghan looking people around, I wonder if that will make us think of Muslims in a negative way?

When I read your headline question I was thinking, Great idea!
"The BMC said that the mosques were being used as a 'symbol of danger' and served to reinforce negative stereotypes of Muslims."

PMSL has anyone ever heard of a positive stereotype?
The link doesn't work so I have no idea what this is about but I pretty sure it must be a load of miichievous b0llocks.
Come on R1Geezer, assuming it's meant as a joke your opening post is pretty low humour.

I like how the article says "Muslim groups" have complained about this, then goes on to mention 2 blokes from Bradford who are the complainers. Hardly "Muslim groups" is it? Similarly, for our question poster to say "Is there anything that the Muslims are not offended by" is very sweeping - if you asked ALL of "the Muslims" about this I reckon most of them wouldn't be bothered. But that's hardly calculated to get DM readers slavering with outrage, which is of course what the DM wants.

When Christians get all overheated about Jerry Springer The Opera without having seen it, or try to stop me from entering a theatre that's showing a play they object to, we don't see DM articles or AB questions asking if there's anything they're not offended by.

I agree that fabricated outrage is a waste of time and energy, so why (a) bother reporting it, and (b) try to puff it up by saying it's "groups" when it appears to be 2 blokes from bradford?

Check the article responses by the way - yes! We actually have a "political correctness gone mad" !
2 blokes, perhaps, but one of them is chairperson of the Bradfor Council of Mosques and there is helpfully a picture of a mosque the size of Buck house. So it does add some officiality to the situation.

Not low humour, this is irony merged with sarcasm. It's actually aping the fact that the headline attempts to draw you into a certain place but by reacting to it in isolation you can expose the original mischief of the question.

Are you fairly new here JimT or perhaps a regular in disguise?
No I'm not new and no I'm not someone else in disguise.

Well, I have to say I was completely wrong-footed by your irony/sarcasm gambit.

Yeah, I realise one of the blokes is a chairman of the mosque council in one city - though what the afghan mosque pic is adding to the "officiality" of that I'm not sure - but the reporting is typical of the skewed perspective we regularly get from the media. They are still just 2 blokes - I'm certainly not assuming that the entire Bradford Council of Mosques membership are boiling with outrage about this. All this "story" has told me is that 2 men from Bradford are overreacting to something. It's a non-story.
Isn't it a bit of a coincidence that it was the chairman who happened to be passing an isolated firing range.?
JimT makes a good point.

Let's not forget the white savages who issued death threats to the BBC because they were preparing to show Jerry Springer: The Opera.

And of course the ones who attacked The Life of Brian for mocking Christ even though it's made abdundantly clear throughout the film that Brian isn't christ.
yes he is in fact a very naughty boy!
Now the king told the boogie men
You have to let that raga drop
The oil down the desert way
Has been shakin' to the top
The sheik he drove his Cadillac
He went a-cruisin' down the ville
The muezzin was a' standing
On the radiator grille

CHORUS:
Sharia don't like it
Rockin' the Casbah
Rock the Casbah
Sharia don't like it
Rockin' the Casbah
Rock the Casbah

By order of the prophet
We ban that boogie sound
Degenerate the faithful
With that crazy Casbah sound
But the Bedouin they brought out
The electric kettel drum
The local guitar picker
Got his guitar picking thumb
As soon as the Sharia
Had cleared the square
They began to wail

CHORUS

Now over at the temple
Oh! They really pack 'em in
The in crowd say it's cool
To dig this chanting thing
But as the wind changed direction
And the temple band took five
The crowd caught a whiff
Of that crazy Casbah jive

CHORUS

The king called up his jet fighters
He said you better earn your pay
Drop your bombs between the minarets
Down the Casbah way

As soon as the Sharia was
Chauffeured outta there
The jet pilots tuned to
The cockpit radio blare

As soon as the Sharia was
Outta their hair
The jet pilots wailed

CHORUS

(Spoken throughout the last chorus):
He thinks it's not kosher
Fundamentally he can't take it
You know he really hates it

How are muslims combatting terrorism? Most of them approve, at least tacitly.
If they are supposed to be mosques , where are the minarets ?
-- answer removed --
R1geezer - "Most of them approve, at least tacitly" - where'd you get that from?
I was going to be outraged until I saw the source.
It's my opinion based on observation from various sources and the aftermath of several terrorist activities, do these place rings any bells?
New York, London, Madrid, Bali, Moscow, ..... next stop a town near you.
JimT

Even though you're not a newbie here, I think I should give you a word of warning.

With a posting about Muslims from anotheoldgit and a sweeping statement about Muslims from R1Geezer, I strongly advise you to go find yourself a bike helmet, because within the next hour or so, you're going to find yourself either slapping yourself on the forehead, or banging your head against a wall.

LucyThomas7's comments can usually be ignored.
R1 - A bit like the most British people tacitly approve of paedophilia - coming to a town near you.
sorry vic how did that leap of illogic come about? I'm pretty sure paedophillia has been widely condemed by all sections of society
