that one is told "Police said the suspect is a black man who ran off after the attack".

Even though it is the 11th teenager this year to be so savagely killed, and one suspects the killers are more likely to be black, it is becoming more and more common for the media to omit the killers colour.

AOG, Why do they need to report the guy's colour? It's irrelevant, a criminal is a criminal regardless of colour. Now, in a police description when appealing for witnesses, yes, you need to state the suspects colour. But in a newspaper report, no, a crime has been committed and is being reported, end of.

I agree there is plenty to moan about "white trash".(your words) and on numerous occasions I have done so.

But in this instance, the subject is the almost daily stabbings carried out by black youths.

This is a problem, known to the general public, known to the Metropolitan police and known to the Politicians.

Something has got to be done about the problem other than just trying to ignore it, calling persons racist and hoping it will go away, because as the statics show it won't.

So just go away and kick some more stones, and stop using racist terms such as white trash, against white persons who's only crime is to dare and approach sensitive subjects.

but as Gromit points out, the suspect's race IS reported in your links, so once again...I'm a little confused about your point.

What are you trying to say? That the media tries to hide the race of a suspect...by printing a description of his/her race?
