Many soccer fans are complaining that they support England all over the world and they are not getting value for money.
I agree with them but what puzzles me where do they get the money from in the first place ? Especially as several said they were unemployed.

This was discussed last week as I recall - suggested that they either have been saving up for four years since the last one, or they have put it all on the credit cards.
modeller one of my old mates may be over there, he is out of work , don't worry he is not spending any dole money to get there
he can't have any dole money due to getting a redundancy payment, the only thing he gets is a ni stamp.

Hi DrFilth. Doesn't your friend need to be actively seeking work to get his NI stamp paid (as part of contribution based JSA) so it will be stopped while he's on holiday?
factor30 don't know , one of my old work mates will not sign on for a stamp he buys his own.
"soccer fans"??? It's "football" - soccer is an expression for nobs!

A cheap air fare is about £500 . What do they do for accomodation and food ?
Do they sleep rough for a month or for as long as England stays in the competition ?
OrcadianOil....No, soccer is a term used in countries that play other forms of football. Gaelic is football.....so English is soccer.
"where do they get the money from in the first place ?"

Where there's a will there's a way.
To the totally ignorant on here, there is no UK association which uses the prefix "soccer" as opposed to "football", i.e. "The Football Association" / "The Football League" / "The Scottish Football Association" etc.

No true football fan ever refers to it as "soccer", a very gauche and fanciful term, it would be akin to using quaint terminology such as the "World Pugilistic Association" instead of "World Boxing Association", or instead of "FIFA"(International Federation of Football Associations), we'd have "FISA", i.e the "S" would stand for "Soccer".

It simply does not exist and never will.
Orcadian Oil you sound like one of those really boring blokes in pubs who drones on in a tedious pedantic fashion about minor things as though they're important.

We know that baseball in England is called rounders. It's a game played by girls.
and basketball is really netball.......but you cheat by running with the ball.
That's told him eh, Craft
and they have a World Series where all the teams are from one country......
-- answer removed --
Be fair... World Series Baseball is the championship series of USA and Canada.
I think it would be accurate to say that:

Most Britons are not that interested in baseball, basketball, hockey or (American) football, and

most Americans are not that interested in soccer(!), cricket or rugby, and

that's perfectly OK all around.
its the taking part not the winning ... people should grow up a bit and not moan so much when the team they support don't do very well in a silly game - no matter how much you paid for your flight, your hotel your tickets its still just a game
