20000+ drunk ticketless scousers force their way into a football match and cause death, I'd say he's absolutely correct. Why are the Hillsborough sympathisers so unable to accept the basic truth? Yes Plod made errors but it wouldn't have been an issue if not for all those ticketless hooligans.

You will have loads of scallies having a go at you now
Sometimes it's better to say nothing at all, all those apologies from people who were not involved in the wars or disasters are to my mind a waste of time.
Geezer

the answer is in your own link if you'd bothered to resd it

///Investigations have found that violence played no part in the tragedy. ///

So Jeremy Hunt wasn't 'telling the truth' he was making a valid point about the World Cup behaviour and in doing so made an inappropriate reference to Hillsborough.

It was just sloppy, ignorant and offensive- rather like your question!

so 20000+ people forcing there way into an already full stadium played no part at all? right oh!
-- answer removed --
the taylor report concluded that the police were at fault in their actions, the fact that the supporters had drunk alcohol and were without tickets was as the taylor report states a secondary factor, the report is damning of the police and the bottom line is that poor police crowd control was the MAIN FACTOR in the disaster, why dont you keep your stupid insensitive thoughts to yourself?...you dont know the ''basic truth'' do you??...so i suggest you keep quiet or read the taylor report until you find out the real reason behind the tragedy...you have made yourself look an idiot...
20,000 drunk ticketless scousers?

How sure are you about these figures?
I have read 2 books on the Hillsborough disaster and it was obviously a combination of different factors but no way was it a result of hooliganism

Hunt also quoted Heysel which WAS hooliganism, he should have got his facts right before opening his mouth

R1Geezer are you perhaps a fan of one of Liverpool's hated rivals? Otherwise why post such a vitriolic attack on such a sensitive subject?
I posted before I read your link R1Geezer, No mention of 20000 drunks on the link. So I ask again how sure are you about this figure?
Where did you get the figure from?

I also agree with other posters, vile and unnecessary
Repeating a lie many times does not make it true Geezer.

Or do you just believe a policeman is unable to tell an untruth?

You probably still believe Jean Charles de Menezes was an illegal immigrant, that he jumped the barriers and ignored warnings. All untrue, but lies put about from off the record comments by policemen.
Geezer is obviously trying to say that every Liverpool fan who went to the match that day was p1$$ed

It's simple logic, would it have happenned if the 20k ticketless fans hd not forced thir way in? This is wone of those subjects where normally sane people cannot/will not see the basic catylist. Steve.5/stoke I'm alowed my view the same as everyone, don't comment if you don't want to. No I'm no fan of Liverpools rivals joe. It seems that a whitewash was done to blame the police so the bereaved could feel better without having to blame their own yobs. In truth the bl00d is on the hands of the 20k ticketless "fans" forcing their way in, In effect forcing the police to try and deal with a difficult problem. Yes errors where made but the initial cause is clear.
where do you get 20.000 from??...it was an estimated 5.000 trying to get in there is a huge difference between the 2 figures isnt there??...a ''whitewash to blame the police?'' has there ever been any compensation paid to the loved ones whose relatives lost their lives through the inadaquecies of the police?...no there has not...the taylor report was an independant report and the police were blamed for the tragedy..end of...no whitewash...just poor crowd control which cost 96 people their lives..
Geezer ^

20,000 ticketless fans 'forced' their way in???

The basic facts are that approaching the 3 o'clock kick off time a large number of Liverpool fans were still outside the Leppings Lane end of the ground and were obviously desperate to get in to see the game, a crush developed and fans were being crushed against the wall/turnstiles so the police opened a large gate and fans streamed into the ground, there were no stewards to direct fans into the outer pens of the enclosure so a major crush developed in the main pen in front of the goal, resulting in the 96 deaths

Unless you know different that is Geezer?
R1Geezer do you just ignore questions you can't answer?
If you are going to post a thread as despicable as this do try to get the facts right.
The bereaved families were related to the ones who got in on time.
Heysel was hooliganism, Hillsbrough was different, L'pool fans played a part (it's true) but poor policing was the principle cause.
I remember going to the match in the 80s, police were awful, we were all treated like animals, I can remember aged 14 a copper on a horse coming up to us queueing up to get into the Gwladys Street (quietly minding our own business, ALL OF US) and getting squashed against the wall by the horse, for no other reason than he thought it was funny.

So for 100 years of terraces up to Hillsborough no one was crushed to death. What was different here?
Try

Fans were not caged it.

You are making a total fool of yourself here geezer
in
There have been crushing deaths before but not on this scale and the difference here was the inadequate crowd control.
