"Private" emails
7 Answers
When I was working, we had a facility to mark emails "Private" which meant that they could be read only by the addressee, i.e. not by assistants or secretaries who would have access to somebody's Inbox from their own screen. Is there a way to do this with my home laptop?

(doing it really wouldn't make any difference to much though unless you are regularly sending mails to Microsoft exchange users who have their mailbox open on other computers, as that's the only system that I can think of that acts the way you describe on receiving private mails)

Thanks CF and SB. Thought that might be the answer. Used to work for large legal firm and they had v sophisticated secure email, both inside and outside the firm. A lot of people I mail (or would like to mail) allow secretaries access to Inbox, and I don't want to share my thoughts with them. I'm not at all techno, so thought I may be missing a simple way to do it, but t'would seem not.
As said, if you were to use a separate mail client such as outlook or outlook express then you could mark the mails as private, but web mail services tend to be somewhat cut down an don't offer all the same features.
(lol slightly at calling exchange a "v sophisticated secure email" btw! many who work with it would disagree!)
