'Borderline retarded' woman to be executed in the US.
A woman who is described as having an IQ of 70 is to be executed in Virginia, USA for arranging the murder of her husband and his son.... Any thoughts on the rights and wrongs of judicially killing even a killer with such a low IQ and other issues?

/// If the death penalty deterred murderers killing in the USA would have stopped years ago. It doesn't work.///
Whenever the subject of capital punishment comes up for discussion, this old chestnut is wheeled out.
'The death penalty is no deterrent for murder, because there are still murders'.
Of course it will not stop the crime of murder completely that is obvious, but who can tell how many more murders would be committed in certain states, if capital punishment was not in force.
I am convinced that if capital punishment was re-introduced in the UK, the amount of killings would be vastly reduced.

Talking of old chestnuts - AOG comes up with the deterrant one whenever this comes up
Does the death penalty deter people who act in a fit of rage?
Does the death penalty deter people who act whilst drunk or high?
Does the death penalty deter people who don't believe they will be caught?
Does the death penalty deter people like Raoul Moat who was quite prepared to kill himself at the end?
It seems that AOG is convinced that murders are rational people who carry out a full risk benefit analysis before acting.
Either that or he just wants the morbid satisfaction of seeing people hung
Surely not
