Because, ayg, they have not only milked it and milked it, but they have discredited and contradicted every scrap of reliable evidence that may show their daughter to be dead. They are doctors, yet they offered the most ridiculous reasons why firm forensic evidence ought to be discounted - I'm no medical bod, but even I can see how childish their responses are. They've changed their statements quite radically on numerous occasions and their cronies, when they have spoken, have been suspiciously evasive. In short, their behaviour has hardly been the usual behaviour of parents in such circumstances. That they are highly articulate doctors, he an eminent surgeon and both 'devout' catholics, they have played to their advantage.

I really do hope the child is alive and well, but I have difficulty believing it. Somehow, I think the McCanns do too.

please......don't get me started about the McCann parents............what they did was unforgiveable. I only hope that that lovely girl is alive and well and being cared for by people who want a child more than a night out....

The MCcann's were only accross the road in a restaurant and there were four of 'em taking turns checking on the kids but they are ridiculed for it. Years ago we used to go to Butlins & there was a chalet patrol only a couple of yound teens "Baby in chalet 21 crying" but what about all the other babies (Dozens of em) no one knew about them, they could have all been abducted, no one was to know, while their parents were in the clubs and pubs enjoying themselves. No one batted an eye lid in those days. Were all these parents neglectful?
I suspect there are quite a few ABers who also went to Butlins for their 'patrol' facilities.
