On the front of some of the dailies today, a Fair statement from the governement? Should we be discouraging the "baby factory" "career scrounger" people?
how about eligibility for child benefit being accrued with earnings and not payable until at least one of the parents or mother if unmarried has worked and contributed for at least 3 years
( that the less that is given to the voluntarily idle the more there will be for the genuinely needy? )
glad you put a question mark at the end this lot in power would like to start up the workhouse again.
does anybody believe this lot will give more to the needy, more to the bankers more like
Square you have it wrong re gas, electricity, water etc people on benefits have to pay those out of what they receive. The disabled get no leeway on that either.
Just wanted to clear it up as I have heard it said before, just as I have heard it said you get a free car on DLA ! You either get the benefit or the car, not both.
As to the original question, of course the workshy and feckless should be sorted out and some restriction on the increase in benefits in relation to how many babies they churn out.
Did not make that clear, you hand over the mobility part of DLA for the car (sometimes you need to top this up if you want a decent motor) but you do keep any care component.
Yes BOO....you can work hard to pay your mortgage. Get made redundant and they won't pay it. Yet if you're in private rented accommodation or a council house they will pay your rent. That's unfair...
