And what I think the Geezer means about paying twice (as he tried to explain in words of one syllable at 14:17) is that he pays once via his NI contributions and then again in cash at the chemist. Of course his initial payment via NI unfortunately pays not for his own drugs but for everybody else’s. This is presumably because he is considered too well off, or not...

Disgusting isnt it.
Hey ! ..more drooling bitter fascism in action - what a surprise.
Because they need their money for more important things like widescreen TVs.
Do you really want them wondering around spreading their germs to the workaholics?

so answerplonker, why can't I get them free too? I pay a kin fortune in NI, I get a regular prescription and I have never seen anyone other than me actually pay. Do you pay for prescriptions?
You pay twice for the one prescription? I think you're being had.....

And errr, think the chemist would complain if they were paid in groats, though a goat night be acceptable- perhaps.

I am afraid you have hit the nail on the head about why the "honest" person in this country is so hacked off at people who contribute nothing (be it through not working or arriving on our doorstep unannounced) get things for free.

I was in my dentist's the other day and a well dressed Asian had some treatment, and when he came to pay for his NHS treatment he said "I am on benefits so dont pay".

She looked at him as though she did not believe him, but what could she do.

I dont think people in this country realise how many Asians are experts at getting something for nothing, or claiming benefits they are not entitled to.

A friend of mine (white) went to an Asian wedding a while ago and he came back and told me he had learned more about fiddling the benefit system while at that wedding that he had in his whole life before that.

These people come from a country where NOBODY gets anything for nothing, so when they come here they think they are entitled to anything and everything. These people are professionals at fiddling the system and are costing us milions (if not billions) a year.

yes Boo once through my NI then again at the counter, I wouldn't mind so much but what I get costs less than £2!
I',m sorry Answer prancer but would you please justify you post ?

How is this fascism? Do you even know the menaing of the word?

R1. It is a disgrace and as a person on long term medication who pays an absolute fortune in taxes and NHIEHI I find it a very bitter pill to swallow.

For the workshy it is difficult, for immigrants the answer is simplem you dont qualify until you have contributed a certain amount.

It is afterall a national health service not a World Health service

read my last post helen, if anyone deserves free anything it's those that contribute.
VHG thats strange VHG because at my dentist they ask before they treat you.

And if you are on benifits you don't get as good treatment, so I doubt that they would treat them and ask how they pay.

If what you say is true my dentist owes me and my family a hell of a lot of money or treatment.
Following on from append above.

My daughter had a car accident a few months ago, and a man came round to access the damage on the car, and the injuries to her.

He was an ex-policeman, and without my daughter saying anything about Asians or immigrants, he started to say how fed up he was going round the houses where Asian people were trying to fiddle the insurance by staging accidents, or pretending they had far worse injuries than they in fact had.

He said it was becoming a real problem

r1 geezer , if the item in question costs less that £2, why do you pay prescription charges if you do in fact pay them? if not what are you talking about?
-- answer removed --
I think what Geezer means about paying twice is - if you have more than one item on the prescription, you have to pay for each one.
So R-pr!ck fascist dribbling bitter jackbooted pudding Geezer - it has to come down to name calling again does it ? It's none of your business whether I do or not, I'm not being drawn into your right-wing bullsh!t.
