Now she knows exactly where she is: soon she will cross over the mountains and then fly over a coastal lowland that, although hot and dry in the summer, will now be cool and will show signs of recent rains. This, after all, is the season that sustains the winter crops, resuscitates the desiccated grasslands, and recharges the depleted soil moisture. Over what continent is Amelia flying ?
