Not sure if anyone else has posted this, but watched it on the news last night and could'nt believe what I was witnessing - James Caan looked like he was filming a reality show, offering to rebuild an Indian village after the floods. Then he offers to buy this baby for his childless brother and his wife, on camera.

The next day he back tracked and said he was caught up in the emotion.

I believe him, he just got caught up in the whole emotion of the situation.

I don't have a question Geezer just asking if anyone else saw it on the news.

I think offering to buy a new born baby that was'nt even abandoned, was more than getting caught up in the emotion .
so what sinister motive did he have then? I just think in that situation it's easy to suggest "solutions" that are innappropriate.

Sinister, who mentioned sinister - I just thought when watching it on the news, he was going to offer, to perhaps, sponsor the child for its schooling etc. I was taken aback when he wanted to actually buy the baby. Thats All, nothing more and nothing less.
Den....LOL....I love it when you are annoyed..........like the new avatar ;-)

Sqad you would'nt want to see me when I really lose it.............
Den......you will do for me my love.
Yes, a foolish thing to do, and also, what a tight git. You'd think a multi millionaire could offer a bit more than 700 quid for a baby.
Perhaps he was expecting Duncan Bannatyne to match the offer if they both took a 49% stake of the baby, with the real parents retaining the remaining 2%.
yeh, but people with money dont usually understand the real world.
Perhaps he was just feeling a bit peckish?
I saw this story in the newspapers this morning. It was reported that a member of his family were longing for a child, and he offered to buy the girl, I suppose he was thinking that these poor people couldn't afford to give the baby much of a life being in the situation they are in. I believe he was caught up with the emotion of seeing the poverty there and also his brother's need.
