Hipsters and mini skirts are to be banned.

In the news today a town on the outskirts of Naples is to ban the min skirt and low slung hipster style jeans as they're indecent.
Taking a liberty or what?

It's a simple question, would any adult woman be happy to be told to wear a longer skirt because they shouldn't go out looking like that?
Would any adult woman be happy to be told they can't wear their favourite trousers, and would they be willing to risk arrest for it?

It's bit over the top, as it were, but if this small town wants to make a stricter dress code than others, so be it, but I suspect this rule will not be enforceable or enforced in a place outside Naples. But it did get the town a lot of attention.
French resorts on the Cote d'Azur and yes, molly, the Principality of Monaco do have a dress code, which is enforced, but that is to stop people from wearing beachwear or going topless when in the town, away from the beaches. It applies to both sexes and is not confined to dull places like Menton. Juan-les-Pins, for example, has this rule.

Eddie makes a good point about enforcement.
What none of you have grasped though is the notion of mission creep.
As has been mentioned the burkha banners are just the thin edge of the wedge, already women are being attacked in France as a result of this reactionary rhetoric (they can wring their hands and say "it wasn't me" and "I don't support that!") but it's a fact, it's a fact that no sooner did France ban the burkha than it expelled the gypsies, before you know it France will be trying to expel French undesirables of foreign descent.
It's a slippery slope when you allow prejudice to define your laws especially if you begin to enforce a dress code.

You don't need to go to Naples to see the mini skirt banned. They're being banned in Cheshire too:-
