Just when there is good news about a British couple, who have been released by African pirates, we now hear of this tragic affair that befell a young British couple on their honeymoon in South Africa.

It is reported that South Africa has one of the worst crime rates in the world, why is this, or is it just Africa and it's people as a whole?

Why do you think that the groom was released, yet his Bride was shot?

And why do you think there are so many Eastern European countries in the mid section of the list?

You've opened an interesting debate...why do you think the countries in the top ten are there - obviously race can't be an issue, because you have an African country, a Central American country, Eastern and Central European countries in there.

So what do you think is the common factor?

Or could it be that there ISN'T a common factor?

While I disagree with AOG's opinions (nearly all of them) I believe he has a right to air them.

As Gromit suggests, leaving user opinions in the open allows others to draw their own judgements.

Once again I post regarding a very sad crime committed on two British subjects (who incidentally are of Indian descent) but funny no mention of this, (how dare an out and out racist show sympathy for this savage attack on two defenceless Indians which ended in murder).

But I have forgot two cardinal sins, I can't post anything that happens to involve black people, no matter how horrific their crimes maybe, and I dared to use the word 'Savage' in connection to a savage crime.

No remorse shown on here for the couple or their families, no the racist thing is just like a cancer which is eating away at these sad ABers.

I am seriously thinking of ceasing my membership of AnsweBank, I will very seriously sleep on it overnight, I am beginning to feel I just do not want to associate myself with some on here, you just make me 'SICK'

In the long, the news section is one where debate requires a source - founded criticism and argument are the point of this section as far as I am concerned. When it comes to spurious accusations, well, there is no place for it.

I am rather surprised with the fact that you also disagree with nearly all my opinions, I would have thought in your position you would show impartiality, and no matter what you personally thought you would not voice your opinion on an open forum. Now by doing so you have cast me to the baying wolves, who are now convinced whatsoever they are right.

As long as I don't break any rules I would have thought I can openly debate on all subject, just look back at my posts, do I ever attack a person unless they attack me first. Is it wrong to condemn a person because one dares to criticise some horrible crime just because the perpetrator happens to be black?

Since you have openly posted your negative views on me, I am getting more and more convinced that you have made my presence on AB untenable, and therefore after many years a member, on a site that I have enjoyed taking part in, I will have to consider ceasing my membership.

The editor has displayed impartiality by continuing to not to censor your posts. I believe you have only been banned once, and that was by a previous editor. To most, your views are extreme, but this is a forum where all views are welcome.

This site would be the worse if you (and the others I disagree with) were to leave. I have got fed up with it in the past, but it is addictive, and I kept posting.

If you are feeling a bit unloved at the moment (I don't think the editor should have said publicly that s/he disagreed with all your opinions) perhaps a rest from posting for a few days might be wise. A permanent withdrawal would be a shame.
