National Lottery

Given the plight that the country is in,wouldn't it be a good idea to make the National Lottery a state controlled lottery & direct funds to The National Health Service? Also I would like to see less large prizes given out & have several ( 10,20,30,maybe) 1 million prize winners instead of 1 person winning several millions.What do you A/Bers think? Ron.

No I disagree. I think that a) the government would make a hogs breakfast out of running it, b) the loss to charities would be immense and C) more small prizes would result in less people buying tickets.

i object only to the panel 'who know better than us' appointed to distribute the funds

i am certain that the technology exists for the purchaser of a lottery ticket to be able to tick a relevant box for the good cause that they wish the net residue of their ticket price to go to

if there was a selection along the lines of health, the arts, sport, disability etc the funds due for distribution would reflect the wishes of the contributors

i am also disappointed when someone wins a large jackpot and then says they didnt want that much money and they will still work and drive their vauxhall viva. ie they would not put the dosh to use

again i am certain that technology exists for another box giving the option of say give me up to 100 grand, a million or 'give me the lot!'
