The crimes these days get more and more gruesome and savage.

When I first head on the radio the report of this killing, I did not realise how horrific it really was, I just said to my wife, "at a time when most little children are dreaming about what Santa is bringing them, here is a little girl who is being stabbed to death by her own mother, that little girl will not see this Christmas or any other".

Before anyone leaps in to say that she hasn't yet been found guilty of killing her young daughter, I say yes I agree, but believe the evidence is damning.

we had a local murder this year. man breaks into the woman's house next door at 8am, stabs her, teenage son comes downstairs, can't get the man off his mother and so stabs him. mad neighbour dies at scene, mother dies one week later.

social services were due to visit him at 11.30am on the day of the murder.
It was a long time ago. You would have drank in the pub at the same time as his brothers. I can't remember his first name.
Thought so.
Mrs jth's jumper was in the car...........!!!

Again, there is a 'history' behind that story.........and a suicide at the end of it.
Poor child, poor woman. IMO, the fact that she was listening to the Koran at the time is irrelevant to me - unless in her confused mental state, she felt she was somehow doing God's will. Apart from the reference in the Koran to Abraham being told by God to sacrifice his son Ishmael (not Isaac as in the Bible), this would not be tolerated as an Islamic action.
In some cultures, mental health issues are such taboo topics that anyone around her may not have sought help - it depends how much she was confined at home or moved in a society in which help should have been available. Whichever faith - God rest the soul of that little girl, and let the mother get the help she so obviously should have had.
OMG - no way. You know them as well. They had a horrific upbringing....

Absolutely an amazing response, but nothing I did not expect.

One could say that most such crimes are committed by people who have a mental health condition.

Take for instance paedophiles, surely they must also suffer from a serious mental health problem?

No, if they are not obviously raving lunatics, they should face the full consequences of their vile actions.
rov 1200.......exactly and that was the point that I was trying to make which you have so admirably performed..

Plenty of diagnosis AFTER the event.
Mrs jth worked with one of them, the priviliged one (she's pulling at her head trying to remember names; John & Robert are favourable).

One of them tracked Jacki down years later to tell her that his brother had killed himself.
AOG - there is a fine line between normality and insanity. It's a pity that this is yet another Muslim-tagged story - there but for the grace of anyone's God go any of us. Nobody knows what tipped that woman over - could be religious fervour (although ^^ not an Islamic action) or she could be just completely unstable with homicidal tendencies, but never had any treatment.

AOG - Can I come and live on your planet ? Things seem very organised and simple there.
Rob and Pete were the healthier of the three. Pete being the one was the least issues. He was good mates with my Uncle (Gary) I went to Robs wedding. Can't remember what the other brothers name was. He committed suicide..

And yes AOG - he was seriously mentally ill...

If you knew the horrendous life these poor boys lived they are lucky only one out of three became ill.
Oh...and just to point out again..he begged for help from his GP because he was having an overwhelming urge to kill. They didn't help him..

ummmm

/// That is no more gruesome and savage than other crimes committed by some people with serious mental health problems..///
.
It all depends on how far you set your perimeters.

///The little girl's heart and other organs were found in different rooms around the flat ///

Sounds pretty 'gruesome and savage' enough to me.
Agree AOG - a hideous incident, I wouldn't deny that, but IMO more evidence that the woman wasn't in her right mind. The place must have looked horrendous.
Yes it is....but someone of 'sound' mind wouldn't do that.

AOG - I worked in a psychiatric hospital for quite a few years. This case got to the press...most don't. These gruesome, savage things, have always happened.

Yet another one of your sarcastic aggressive posts aimed at me. Another one to archive for future reference, when you accuse me of being offensive to you.

Obviously you just can not help yourself, so perhaps I should now pity you?
How was that aggressive? I was thinking the exact same thing..!!

You are being very ignorant AOG. You really think people commit such crimes because they are savages?
Dear AOG,

Do you know what aggressive 'actually' means ?

Sarcastic yes; but no more than your usual simplistic, ill-thought out posts deserve. By all means archive my comments to you but I really think you need to revise your categories if you believe that these remarks are intended to be anything other than instructive and educating for you (there can be no doubt that you are need of both).

Yours sincerely,

jackthehat
LOL
Obligatory punch-up aside ... The little girl, in all honesty, doesn't give a toss about xmas now (if she ever did, being of a certain faith). It's the people that had to walk in and discover a dissected toddler that are going to have the sh1t xmas.
