So can we now get some proper prisons?

Let's get rid of these holiday camps and lock this scum up in a proper nick. Where will they go while their charming abode is refitted? Let's outsource the whole thing to a country that knows how to operate a penal system.

It depends on the crime though. My cousin served time in Woodhill (cat a) and he said it was horrendous...transferred to cat b and he said that was bareable. He's changed since that experience because he doesn't want to go back.

what a ridiculous comment......there are plenty of prisons that are pretty grim and yes there are some cushy ones, usually for less serious or minor offences. I would postulate that ring leaders of this little riot will be heading for more uncomfortable accommodation.
Oh, and any comparison to American prisons; whilts they are generally harsher, they have the same issues of re-offending - so its not the comfort level! I read somewhile back so can't quote the source that nearly 1/3rd of those in prison are ex-services. If that be the case, perhaps we ought to look at the source and their demob training/psychology to cut future numbers.
