They are probably reluctant to reveal anything because this is a real crime not an entertainment show.

Why do people think the Police should reveal ALL information on cases? They have told peole to take care and not to walk out on their after dark, and to use their common sense, shouldnt that be enough.

when they give out any info they are giving the murderer more to go against when bein questioned. The less info that people know the police know the more they can confuse them when questioning them

I dont think it is an odd question.If it was a woman who was suspected of murdering her then the chances are she wasnt sexually assaulted-the assumption is its male but we dont know and perhaps the police arent willing to give out this info at this moment.Just a thought.

I dont think its strange, I think its quite interesting to know how the police work

The Attorney General has come out to criticise the Media about their coverage and want to reveal all information. Never mind the impact on the police work, the AG pointed out that it could prejudice a trial to the point of making it impossible to go to trial.

Hence the clam up - the only thing that is probably sure is that she knew her attacker as there was so evidence of a fight - and re sexual assault she was found with her clothes on, so it is claimed by the press.

It is quite possible for a trained observer to quickly establish if a woman has been sexually assaulted. For instance a forced entry would show heavy bruising on the inside of the legs not to mention any semen left in the vagina.

I was shocked that the name and many details of the police`s first suspect
were plastered all over the media. What happened to "innocent until proven
guilty"? If this person turns out to be genuinely innocent his life will never
be the same as before.

Sexual assault does not always involve penile penetration. You cannot always tell just by looking, there won't always be semen even with penile penetration. There won't always be bruising.
If only things were that simple!

If he is fully innocent (and proven to be), he should very carefully look at all the papers and what they have said over the Xmas period. Anything out of line, then he should go gung-ho for libel - it will be worth more than suing the police for wrongful arrest. Having said that, the Press now employ a cohort of lawyers to avoid these sort of cases, however they still can put their feet in the proverbial libel cowpat.....

I don't think the Police are reluctant.
They realise that calls for more details to be released about this case are merely to satisfy the curiosity of people who cannot possibly assist in solving the case.

its quite funny, if jeffries had been some school teacher that had protected some children in a school gun rampage I bet the same people would be saying 'he was always a very kind and caring person that would have done anything to help you...'
