Hard to believe, just announced on the TV news that it's twenty years since the Americans conducted their first bombing raid on Iraq. Twenty years since the WMD contentions. No question, I'm just dismayed how long ago it was.

I know the term's been around a long time but I did think WMD was used as the reasoning behind the 2 Gulf war rather than the first which followed the invasion of Kuwait. You're right though, time has flown by and what progress has been made?

Desert storm was a response to the invasion of Kuwait.

WMDs were much later, a spurious excuse after the 9/11 2001 attack, to invade a country who were not involved.
