I wondered if anyone had seen this: http://www.dailymail....l-police-website.html ?

Liz Jones decides to "retrace the footsteps" of Jo Yeates.

she provides us with a tasteless gem like: "I wish she had spent what were probably her last hours on earth somewhere lovelier. The food is awful."

Does this kind of "journalism" have any place in any newspaper? Or do you think there is value in it? If you were Paul Dacre would you continue to pay Liz for such tripe?

Maybe she was just trying to empasize with Jo in her last moments. I believe the police carried out a similar operation maybe to jog the minds of local citizens though.
The story is gradually losing its interest with the public as every clue has been flogged to death and I'm sure newspapers are writing everything they can to keep the story alive.

Surely the offer of £50,000 not attracting any takers shows the crime has been committed by a lone individual. The motive is still unclear and sex has not taken place. To commit a crime like this must surely involve jealousy, revenge or hate.

I made the mistake of reading a Liz Jones blog quite some time ago, where she was pretending to suffer the plight of being unemployed.
She sat in her mansion in front of her inglenook fireplace dressed in rags, holding out her hands as if begging for small change.

As has been pointed out by Mark and Pinkilady the only reason she exists is to wind you up.

It is a bit Frankie Boyle, very tasteless but the readers will read again in the hope of more. The fact that she is being talked about and posted about is the very reason Paul Dacre will continue to pay her handsomely.

Of course, if people voted with their wallets and stopped buying the drivel in the first place then she might get the heave-ho. But they won't. They secretly like tacky stuff.

To answer your question; yes - this type of journalism does have a place in this newspaper. Both are f******g awful.
