So he had an affair with a politicians wife, is that a sackable offence?

If he had been on duty at the time, then perhaps there is some justification, but if not then all that should happen is a good dressing down and relieved of his duties of a body guard.

/// Dai Davies, former head of Scotland Yard’s Royalty Protection Squad said. "It doesn’t get any worse than that. It’s like a footman having an affair with one of the senior royals".///

Mmmmm! I wonder if he was referring to anyone in particular?

There are times when a PC should keep the truncheon under wraps. He has to go.
we were paying him to protect Johson; if Johnson's had to resign, he would not seem to have done his job very well. Sounds massively unprofessional to me.
I agree with you. He was only doing what is completely normal in other situations. The poor woman was probably grossly neglected by her husband, who is now getting all the sympathy.
He used his position of trust to gain an advantage over his "care"

Should a doctor be struck off for having an affair with his patient?

The answer is no to both.

Well spotted.
They are ther to protect and serve the public, he was serving her. :-)

starbuck....<<<The poor woman was probably grossly neglected by her husband, <<

yeah! right.
It takes two, maybe she caught sight of his truncheon.
Maybe she targeted him as she was getting any Nookie from the ex Postman. Typical, just like us not getting mail on time from what is now known as "The Royal Snail."

<<as she was getting any Nookie from the ex Postman.<<

That is the problem....she wasnt....LOL

Bit naughty of me....I knew what you meant.
thanks for that Sqad, a two letter and an apostrophe goof up from me.
She could have been getting it from both of them........that is one more possibility.
DT..LOL....at the same time?........now that is language that I understand!
Lol - she was pehaps politically naive - a centralist between one of them on the left and the other on the right.
Do posh people do spit roasts?
