suspension awaiting Investigation - part II
4 Answers
Please for those who dont know my situation, read my other post -Suspension Awaiting Investigation.
Today is Thursday february, 4, 2011 and i have not heard from tesco yet.
I have been suspended since 26 of february 2011. It is been more than a week now. I have not been called for any meeting. No contacted by letter or whatsoever. I have called a friend of mine to ask if he knew something about my suspension or if any of the management hired someone to replace me and he also did not know.
Do you know how long does this take to get sorted? I have read in the employment law that employee may take up to 4 weeks to finish investigation and decide. Is this right? And same time i have read in other forums that people has waited as long as 4 months until hearing from employee for disciplinary hearing. I am talking about not the same situation. Call centre employees watching obscene website in the internet others for harassment at work and even others for sending text messages at work!
Please advise me how long this procedures will take as i am looking forward to return to work. I still not heard from any of the managers ! Does that mean i am automatically dismissed?
regards

Thank you woofgang for your answer.
I am suspended on full pay. Would that not damage me further ? Atm, the only copy i have got is the Grievance Note which was given to me in the day of my suspension when i was sent back home and was explained that you will return when the investigation finishes. She said that it would only take 2 days and that i would be contacted. Today is 4 of february 11 and nothing from tesco so far

Suspensions can take weeks before the employer decides what to do - in the civil service often months. You can't speed the process up and since you are being paid, maybe best to make good use of your unexpected free time. Tesco will not hang around longer than they think necessary - they are not an organisation renown for spending money on salaries without getting anything back.
