If "society" WANTS to be more tolerant of a religion, totally different from ours, made up of people who dress differently to us, who have traditions and laws completely alien to us and give the impression that they, may be intolerant of OUR laws and traditions.

DT of course you aspirations are the correct ones.....but aspirations I feel, that is all they remain.

DC has been careful to state that this issue doesn't solely relate to the Muslims amongst us, although they may well be the largest community - but there also many of other cultural and religious groups in this discussion (e.g. Chinese, Sikhs, Poles, etc.) This isn't an exclusively Muslim issue under discussion, and IMO we shouldn't view it as such.

The Irish problem was in the past, as was the German problem, before them.

Islam are now the 'Enemy at the Gates' so it is reasonable to state that it is the Muslims who are now the problem.

I cannot remember any Chinese, Sikhs, Poles, or Hindu suicide bombers threatening us, and that is the real issue here, not who is attacking other countries.

Agree on the threat front, AOG, but as long as I can remember, integration of the remaining cultural groups has been a topic for discussion as to whether they "should" integrate or assimilate in the host country. The topic of multiculturalism is how everyone should/could integrate and not grow up and/or live in silos of only their own people - which then leads to extremism. IMO.

I haven't heard any squeaks from the Labour party yet. Is it because they caused the problem by allowing millions of immigrants through the back door so they had to find a policy for them all to fit in?

I don't think any Muslim could have caused the banking crisis though and is a separate issue. This would have happened regardless.

I wouldn't start from here though. With the introduction of the human rights act, the removal of most of the control order legislation, granting many thousands of immigrants a permanent right to stay (an amnesty by another name) and Islamic organisations that have been set up, not to mention the building of many mosques and the indocrination in our schools, colleges, universities and prisons by Islamic preaching.

Cameron can achieve nothing unless he begins to roll back the clock to put this to right.
