It is tricky isn't it? I don't really have any answers to be honest, other than my own feelings which I've outlined previously.

There will be some "target bombing" - it was suggested as much by a military spokesperson on the Today Program this morning.

It seems though that this might be all the rebels need to achieve their aim - the main issue being the shelling and bombing by Gaddafi's hired hands. But you are quite right to say that "one thing leads to another" in these situations.
