hackney...
i truly give in...the great unwashed are now pelting riot police with bins/bricks/trolleys etc after a 'stop and search' took place in hackney. are they attempting to suggest the police should leave them alone to get up to lord knows what? you can see the stupid buggers gawping in the the middle of the trouble, others smashing the street up and actively provoking the police for a response. i say again - they should get the rubber bullets back out and perhaps the scrotes would think twice about acting like a hooligan/thug/gangster. i would be ashamed and horrified if that was my child behaving like that and would do lords knows what to him as a result. why do parents let their children grow up believing that it is acceptable to behave in this way? what are your thoughts on the events that are unfolding? is currently live on bbc news x

I listened to some twit earlier who rambled on, about how the city is under pressure, and that some people are unhappy with the ways things are and are going to do something about it, i lost the plot completely listening to him witter on

yeah...it seems to be ok to go and smash things up if you are 'deprived' or 'bored', stopped by the police (because you probably look like a troublemaker - or are known to them) and because entertainment is not laid out on a platter. i'm deprived and bored...and work around 50 hours a week for the privilege! does that mean i can go and smash up my local curry's to ensure i have the latest electronic gadgets? x
I honestly think that the time has come for the Army to be called out to back up the police to take proper action against what is a terrible situation. The Police do not have sufficient manpower to deal with criminality on this scale. I am not advocating martial law but proper manpower to crush this ongoing riot with whatever force is required ie gas, water canon or even firearms if required. This mob must learn that they cannot again take control of our streets again.
its been raining on and off for a while now, the rain won't do it anyway, the little bstards will just carry on, and maybe we don't have watercannons here, but perhaps we should, think what this costs in real terms, in lost businesses, homes, and people staying at home, too frightened to venture out, so retail outlets losing out again. Add in what this is doing to our standing around the world, and make no mistake the world is watching. A number of people who were interviewed on the news were surprised we had this sort of thing over here. And like bombings in London, it does put people off from coming here. Suppose this goes on next year when the Olympics is in full swing, i dread to think what could happen then.
