Noisy spin dryer

My washing machine is 16 years old.It has hardly broken down but in the last few weeks the spin dryer has been making a terrible noise,like an aeroplane taking off.Is it on the way out?

Probably the bearing(s) gone.

It needs a full strip-down to fit it.

Both sites keep bearings .. or yourspares has either.

You have to strip it to find if a spider is required too ... or replace the lot anyway.

Some just use a support type bearing ..
Unfortunately most sites point to a spider .. However you are right to check, as most I have seen have the support type bearing.
That set may well be for their washing machines.
