but i was clearing out my loft and came across a vintage monopoly set with wooden/cardboard characters (all there) and a matching board. does anyone know how much this is worth? i've tried looking on the net, but haven't got very far. patent no. is:453689. how can i find out about it's value and where can i flog it? strange....but mtia for any suggestions x
In the 50s my family had a set with cardboard tokens stuck into a wood base and wooden houses / hotels rather roughly cut. Like thois http://stcroiss.blogs...-photograph-aged.html . Probably produced to war time "austerity" standards. I have no idea of value.
thanks, jj. my set is earlier than that and have dated it to 1940. the pieces are more rudimentary and slightly different in pattern. thanks for your interest tho x
Sometimes auction houses have specialised sales and this attracts collectors from around the world. If you can find one that's selling toys, this will increase the number of potential buyers.
