Went round friends to drop something off this morning - knew she wouldnt be in, I have a key and she knew I was coming. Got there and the front door was wide open - but her car wasnt there. Called her name inside but no reply. Didnt want to go in just incase someone had broken in and was still in there. Rang her mobile from driveway but no reply. Just wasnt sure what to do Assumed that in hurry to get all kids in car she hadnt pulled door to properly. In end waited till she rang me back half hour later and she said that she had told 6 yr old to shut door but she clearly hadnt.
i wouldnt have, however i am all ways leaving my front door open when going in so my neighbours just bang on the door frame to let me know lol. i am super anal about shutting doors and windows when going out and will make sure they are all locked and shut before we leave!
Unless the door looked as though it has been busted open or there was glass everywhere, a break-in wouldn't have occured to me. So yes, I would have walked in a put the kettle on lol
probably, though it depends where you are, Ruralville-on-Peacewater or Toxteth. But phoning her, and waiting half an hour for an answer, is a pretty decent thing to do for a friend. Good for you!
I can understand your concern Snowball, but would a burglar leave the door open while inside the premises - I think not, more likely to lock it to prevent being disturbed.
hmmm, well I knew she was on school run so thats why I knew she wasnt inside. Oh well, maybe I just think differently because my mum came home to same thing when I was a child and she did indeed disturb burglars.
I left the door slightly open once, when I came home there was a pair of trousers and a glossy mag (not mine) on the floor in the front room, as I was pondering what the hell they were doing there a trouserless now exfriend poked his head from behind the kitchen door.
I'll leave you to imagine what had been going on!
